family business for family entertainment Butch and Hazel Taft met as college students at Tennessee Tech where both were collegiate rodeo champions. After marrying, the two rodeoed across the south, living in both Tennessee and Florida before moving back to Hazel’s family farm in Ohio in 1980. In Ohio, the Tafts were founding members of the Ohio High School Rodeo Association and hosted the association’s state finals at their farm for several years before starting their own rodeo stock contracting business. Their children Jane and C.E. both competed in OHSRA before C.E. competed on the University of Tennessee at Martin rodeo team as a steer wrestler. After graduation, he continued to steer wrestle professionally across the county. Today, C.E. runs the day-to-day operations and manages the rough stock end of the arena during their rodeos. Jane handles timing and payoff at the rodeos with her daughter Aubree. Jane’s husband Craig runs the timed event end of the rodeo arena.
